Town of Hilton Head Island issued the following announcement on December 7.

After applauding Town Manager Marc Orlando for his work over the last 10 months, the Hilton Head Island Town Council voted 7 – 0 on Tuesday to extend his contract and to award him a bonus of $15,000.

Last year in December, Orlando was officially offered the position of Town Manager with a two-year contract. He began working for the Town on February 22, 2021. The terms of the contract was amended to coincide with the February start date and continue through February 21, 2025. After 2025, the contract will automatically extend for one-year periods unless terminated.

“We are very pleased with Marc’s performance and with the accomplishments of Town staff during his time with the Town. He continues to assure that Council’s goals are met, that citizens and visitors are treated with respect and that our financial resources are used wisely,” said Mayor John McCann.
