Town of Hilton Head Island issued the following announcement on January 14.

Starting Monday, January 17, the SC Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) will relocate its free COVID-19 testing from Fire Station 4 on Squire Pope Road to Crossings Park, 4 Haig Point Circle on Hilton Head Island.

DHEC’s drive-thru testing will take place only on Mondays between 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. Those interested in being tested should enter Crossings Park at Haig Point Circle and follow the signs to the soccer field, where DHEC staff will administer the PCR (nasal swab) test. Rapid COVID-19 tests are not available at this testing site.

For Monday testing, people are encouraged to pre-register at DHEC’s website at https://covidtest.dhec.sc.gov/en-US/. This will help ensure quick and effective drive-thru testing. If you are under 18 years of age, please bring your parent or legal guardian with you. They will need to give their consent before you can be tested. Test results should be available within 48 to 72 hours.

For more about DHEC’s COVID-19 tests or test results, call 1-855-472-3432 or visit https://scdhec.gov/
