Tom Sunday has joined the Town of Hilton Head Island as its new Director of Technology & Innovation.
In his role, Sunday is a member of the Town’s senior staff team and will provide strategic direction for the Town’s Technology and Innovation department. “Tom will help us manage and advance technology to meet the needs of our residents, customers, and employees, and expand services across multiple platforms. We are thrilled to have Tom on board,” said Marc Orlando, Town Manager.
Sunday brings 23 years of experience in the field of technology. Most recently, he served as Chief Technology Officer for the Town of Bluffton, where he has helped to advance the Town’s technology services since 2015. Prior to working for Bluffton, he worked in the technology departments for the Beaufort County School District and the Rutherford Regional Health System.
Sunday earned a bachelor’s degree from Gardner Webb University and holds certifications as a Chief Information Officer and in Municipal and County Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is currently board president of the Municipal Technology Association of South Carolina.
