Places to Pop the Question | Jasper County Chamber of Commerce

You’ve found your person, you bought the ring, now you’re just waiting for the right time…and place. This will be a story told for years to come, so you have to find the perfect spot. Luckily, Jasper County is full of great locations to pop the question. So plan a romantic getaway and don’t forget to pack the ring! Pick any of these spots and you’re sure to create a memory you will never forget.

Jasper County and the rest of the South Carolina Lowcountry is known for its beautiful, natural scenery. If your significant other is into the outdoors, there are plenty of places to take a knee and ask the question.

Savannah Wildlife Refuge is a great location any time of day, but going at sunset will make for a proposal that will leave your future spouse speechless. Go for a romantic hike before they close, and watch the sun set over the horizon before you take a knee. With the breathtaking fiery sky as your backdrop, ask the question you’ve been waiting for.

Speaking of sunsets, you can’t go wrong with almost every location if you go during sunset. South Carolina sunsets are magnificent. There are several ideal places to watch a sunset in Jasper County, including some of our wonderful parks, bodies of water, and nature centers.

If you enjoy outdoor activities like hunting, hiking, biking, or riding horses, book a trip to Good Hope Plantation. This one-of-a-kind resort plantation is Lowcountry South Carolina at its most authentic and abundant. Experience golden tidal marshes to forests of longleaf and loblolly pine. This romantic and peaceful destination is the perfect place to ask your significant other to spend the rest of your days together.

Nothing quite screams romance like flowers. And what better place to ask someone to marry you than a beautiful garden? The Pratt Memorial Library Garden can be that place. This state-of-the-art garden was designed by nationally renowned landscape architect Richard K. Webel. So surround yourself with colorful flowers, take a knee, and start your life together!

Another incredible and historic sight is the Euhaw Baptist Church. Learn about the history of this impressive building, dating back to the 1700’s. Then take your partners hand on the steps, between the two beautiful towers, and ask the question.

If you’re up for a short drive, the neighboring community of Hilton Head Island is a great place to propose. With 12 miles of wide, sandy beaches, marinas, nature preserves, and countless activities, there are endless possibilities.

It may seem cliche, but you can’t go wrong with a romantic dinner at any of our local restaurants. If dessert is more your style, have a custom sweet created by the talented bakers at Eats & Sweets. Spell out your love for your partner on a mouthwatering cake, or spell it out with chocolate covered strawberries. Honestly, no matter what you get here, it will be hard for anyone to say no.
