Technical College of the Lowcountry: Celebrate SC Tech Week

Technical College of the Lowcountry issued the following announcement on March 21.

On March 22 through March 26, the Technical College of the Lowcountry will take part in South Carolina Technical College Week, a spirit week celebration in conjunction with the entire South Carolina technical college community and in partnership with our statewide “I Defy” campaign.

The “I Defy” campaign is redefining how the world thinks about technical education by celebrating the power of South Carolina technical colleges and spotlighting the spirit of students defying tradition, norms and expectations through a technical education.

With more than 160,000 students at 16 colleges – and a job placement rate of 91% – South Carolina’s Technical Colleges have a lot to celebrate. This year, we want our voices of celebration to ring loud and clear throughout the entire state.

Each day throughout the week, students, alumni, faculty, and staff are invited to participate in a different theme by sharing their stories, celebrating their accomplishments, and showing college pride. By participating in the theme each day, sharing experiences, and using the hashtags #IDefySC and #SCTechWeek within social platforms like Instagram, participants will be entered to win over $5,000 worth of prizes and swag!

It is my hope that throughout the week you will get involved and show your pride in TCL. The flyer below includes all of the details for each day’s theme and the ways in which you can engage and earn prizes. You can also keep up with everything happening throughout the week by following @idefysc on Instagram or liking I Defy on Facebook.

Your story is important, and we want to hear it.
Our community is inspiring, and we want to celebrate it.
Let’s shape the future together.
Let’s show the world what we’re made of.

Thank you!

Richard Gough, Ed.D. President
