Town of Hilton Head Island issued the following announcement on January 18.
The Town of Hilton Head Island will host several virtual public meetings to share information about the short-term rental initiative and to gather public input for development of solutions to address short-term rentals concerns.
Virtual public open houses will be held 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 20, and 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm Thursday, February 3.
The Town has also scheduled the following stakeholder meetings:
- Wednesday, January 19 from 11 am to 12 pm with a focus on North and Mid-Island residents.
- Wednesday, January 19 from 1 to 2 pm with a focus on the Gullah Community.
- Thursday, January 20 from 9 to 10 am with a focus on South Island residents.
- Thursday, January 20 from 3 to 5 pm with a focus on short-term rental owners.
- Monday, January 31 from 10 am to 12 pm with a focus on short-term rental owners.
- Tuesday, February 1 from 3 to 4:30 pm with a focus on residential property rental companies.
The public can continue to provide feedback about the Town's short-term rentals initiative via a survey on the Town’s website at https://hiltonheadislandsc.gov/short-termrentals/. The survey is open through January 31, 2022.
