Technical College of the Lowcountry issued the following announcement on November 3.
The Technical College of the Lowcountry will begin offering its Medical Assisting certificate program at its Hampton Campus this January.
Why Consider Medical Assisting as a Career?
Medical Assistants are multi-skilled health professionals who perform administrative and clinical duties under the supervision of a physician.
As an in-demand occupation, medical assisting has been steadily growing and is projected to continue to grow as the baby-boom population continues to age.
South Carolina’s annual mean wage for medical assistants is $33,010, according to 2020 reports from the U.S. Labor Statistics and earnings can increase substantially with time and experience.
About TCL’s Program
The program consists of 40-credit-hours over three semesters. The total cost for tuition is $8,000 (or 40 credit hours X $200 per credit). However, the majority if not all of the program costs can be covered through financial aid such as S.C. Lottery Tuition Assistance. In fact, many attend TCL tuition-free.
Info Session
Come meet faculty and staff, tour the Hampton Campus, apply in person and get financial aid assistance, from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 2.
