In honor of the Battle of Honey Hill anniversary, Dr. Doug Egerton talks about the role these black soldiers played in the Civil War, from their inception to their time in this region. Egerton teaches at Le Moyne College in Syracuse, NY, and authored Thunder At the Gates: The Black Civil War Regiments That Redeemed America.
