Town of Hilton Head Island issued the following announcement on July 19.

The Town of Hilton Head Island has been awarded a $10,000 sponsorship from T-Mobile in support of the 2021 Hilton Head Island Lantern Parade and Crescendo Festival. This sponsorship will expand outreach efforts for free cultural opportunities in the community such as a Grandparents’ Day Free Lantern Making Workshop, school performances at local elementary schools by the jazz group The Little Big Band, and a free pops performance of the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra at Lowcountry Celebration Park.

This year's Crescendo Celebration of Arts & Culture will take place with over 100 arts and culture events on Hilton Head Island from October 10 through November 13, 2021. The Hilton Head Island Lantern Parade will take place on South Forest Beach on Saturday, November 13. The lantern parade is a creative placemaking initiative culminating in the Town’s largest temporary public art display on the island. Community members construct lanterns in advance of the parade.

We are thrilled to be back in-person with Crescendo, the month-long celebration of arts and culture on Hilton Head Island and the third annual Hilton Head Island Lantern Parade. We're honored that T-Mobile wants to be a part of it all," said Jennifer McEwen, the Town's Director of Cultural Affairs. "In addition to supporting our standard programming, T-Mobile has come to the table with creative ideas to provide our community further access to cultural activities, which can now be offered free of charge."

As a company, T-Mobile has a long history of giving back to their communities. In 2019, T-Mobile  supported more than 9,000 non-profit organizations. Its employees personally donated more than $2 million and totaled more than 91,000 in volunteer hours.  T-Mobile continues to be more committed than ever to leveraging its scale for good and prioritizes access for seniors, youth engagement opportunities, diversity and inclusion, and sparking creativity.
