Of the 2,842 people living in Shell Point in 2019, 44.9 percent (1,276) were women and 55.1 percent (1,566) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the Hilton Head Reporter.

Males 18 and over outnumbered females in the same age group by a ratio of 1,046-to-744. In the 65 and over age range, there were 100 females and 197 males.
