30% unemployed in Burton in 2018

30 percent of Burton residents between 16 and 65 years old were unemployed in 2018, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The percentage of unemployed residents was less than the statewide total of 39.5 percent for this demographic group. In 2018 the total Burton population reached 6,357.

Out of 4,452 people who had a job, 197 were employed in the Armed Forces and 4,255 belonged to the civilian labor force.

The total unemployment numbers include residents of all ages who are not working.
