The US Economic Development Administration awarded Hardeeville a grant worth $3,100,000 to help fund a project in Jasper County.

The grant was awarded on June 26, 2019. The EDA describes the grant as follows:

"This EDA investment funds road, water and wastewater improvements to serve the Hardeeville Commerce Park in a designated Opportunity Zone in Hardeeville, South Carolina. The investment will increase extreme weather resiliency in the future, which will strengthen the regional economy"
