About the Commission

The seven-member Planning Commission is required to:

  • Draft, review, and propose amendments to the Comprehensive Plan and Unified Development Ordinance
  • Approve or deny applications related to land development and street naming/renaming
  • Review and make recommendations for proposed annexations or zoning map amendments
  • Propose policies and procedures to facilitate the implementation of the Town’s planning efforts
  • Propose an annual Capital Improvements Program
  • Determine appeals from administrative decisions of the Unified Development Ordinance Administrator in the administration of land development regulations per the South Carolina Local Government Comprehensive Planning Enabling Act of 1994, Section 6-29-780(A)
