Buckwalter Skate Park Closed Immediately for Emergency Repairs

Beaufort County Parks and Recreation Director Shannon Loper announced that the Buckwalter Skate Park will be partially closed for emergency repairs. The big bowl will be closed beginning today, Wednesday, May 18 and is scheduled to reopen Monday, May 23. 

“We understand it’s disappointing to all the residents who use our skate board park, however our emphasis is always safety first,” said Shannon Loper, Parks and Rec Director. “We noticed some issues beginning to develop and wanted to address them immediately. The safety of all our skaters is paramount and Beaufort County Parks and Recreation is committed to providing the best sports experiences. We apologize for the inconvenience of shutting this part of the park down but hope to have it reopened Monday.”
